Limescale – Cheap Ways to Remove it From Fixed Shower Head Units!
One of the most difficult places to remove hard water stains and limescale is from showerheads. They can be an awkward size or shape and in some cases they are fixed to the wall making them even more tricky to clean. The most common symptom of blocked showerheads is a reduction in the flow due to the nozzles accumulating a hard limescale deposit.
Hard water stains and limescale on fixed showerheads can be very tough to remove with ordinary cleaners, but with the right approach they are easily eliminated. Using soap and elbow grease is a poor weapon, but with some basic chemistry knowledge you will be able to will dissolve those annoying limescale deposits from your shower unit in no time at all.
Below is a tried and tested technique used specifically for fixed showerhead units, give it a go and watch it eliminate the limescale in no time.
Natural Formula to Use:
½ liter of white vinegar, ½ liter of water
Method to Use:
1. Fill any type of plastic bag large enough to cover the showerhead with equal parts water and white vinegar and the lemon juice.
2. Fasten the bag over the showerhead with duct tape, rubber bands, hardware clamps; whatever you can find around the house that will hold it tightly.
3. Let the showerhead soak in the solution overnight or for a few hours.
4. Remove the bag and repeat if necessary.
5. Rinse and replace the showerhead
Tip: Sometimes, it can be slightly more difficult to remove limescale as it can be extra stubborn. If this is the case try using white vinegar on its own and leave to soak for a little longer.
