Lady Gaga Music Live In The UK

By    |  March 13, 2010

The music world’s latest superstar is Lady Gaga. Welcome to her Monster Ball.

Lady Gaga certainly knows how to put on a show. The Monster Ball Tour has been on the road since November 27, and hits European shores next month with a concert in Manchester, England on the 18th of February. The tour continues throughout February and March, winding up the UK leg with dates in Birmingham, Sheffield and Nottingham.

Prior to taking the Monster Ball on the road, the glamorous Poker Face Lady Gaga stated that fans could look forward to an “expensive-looking, delicious show” for a ticket price that her followers could afford. “I’ve got super loyal fans, so I feel this tremendous obligation to take care of them,” she told Rolling Stone magazine.

The concerts feature an opera theme, which Lady Gaga explains thusly: “The theatrics and story elements are in the style of an opera. Imagine if you could take the sets of an opera, which are very grand and very beautiful, and put them through a pop-electro lens.”

Speaking more about the stage design for this series of concerts she stated, “The design of the show is very, very forward; very , very innovative. I’ve been thinking about ways to play with the shape of this stage and change the way that we watch things. So what I’ve done is, I’ve designed a stage with Haus of Gaga (Lady Gaga’s behind-the-scenes creative team) that is essentially a frame with forced perspective, and the frame is put inside the stage.”

The “Little Monsters” (the name Lady Gaga has affectionately given to her followers) have made Gaga one of the previous year’s most explosive successes.Gaga’s recent single “Bad Romance” was a number one chart success in Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Canada and Britain, whilst reaching the top-two in Australia, New Zealand, Italy and the United States.

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards were also kind to Lady Gaga as she took home nine of the awards, including Best Female Video, Best New Artist, Video of the Year and Best Pop Video for her single “Poker Face”, while “Paparazzi” clinched the Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Special Effects, Best Editing and Best Direction awards.
